Access Statement

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors in our home base bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision.

Although we cannot offer accommodation for anyone with full mobility problems we offer ground floor accommodation with reasonable access for part wheelchair users. Both the lounge and dining room are on the level ground floor next to the double bedroom. Our premises are centrally heated.

We have an interlinked fire alarm system throughout the letting accommodation. There is free WI FI internet access throughout all rooms.

Pre-arrival

  • There are bus stops approx 100 yards to the right and left of the premises on the main A38. This route services Worcester City Centre and Birmingham.
  • The main train station is two and three quarter miles away.
  • The Park and ride bus service is approximately one mile away.
  • Local taxi services available.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

  • There is full signage visible to all traffic travelling along the main A38 road - it is illuminated after dusk.
  • There is a wide entrance to the car park
  • The car park is a level surface made up of a Cotswold stone.  No marked bays but adequate parking for six cars.
  • A level walkway is made to the front entrance.
  • Lighting is adequate to the frontage of the house along with substantial lighting from the illuminated signage.

Main Enterance and Reception

  •  The twin front porch doors open inwards - 89cm wide, a step up 13cm high.
  • The main front door is 83 cm wide and a step up 13 cm.
  • Door Bell is situated at a height of 138cm.
  • The main door is closed on a Yale lock basis.
  • The hall way is 1.68m wide narrowing to 84cm.
  • Fire alarm button and fire extinguisher located inside front door.
  • Smoke alarm and bell at the far end of the hallway.

Public Areas - General Interest

  • There is a guest Lounge situated on the ground floor
  • The entrance is 72cm opening inwards
  • There is a three seated sofa and one armchair.
  • Adequate lighting and floor covering is a short pile carpet and centre rug.

Breakfast Room

  • Situated on the ground floor.
  • The entrance is 72cm and door opening inwards.
  • Table heights are 76cm.

  • Floor covering is of laminate construction
  • Fire alarm button located by the patio doors.

Bedrooms

  • There are a total of six bedrooms
  • One double room on the ground floor, the other five bedrooms on the first floor
  • Access to the first floor is made by thirteen stairs. 
  • A double banister rail runs the entirety of the staircase 
  • Stairs all fully carpeted.

  • Entrance door opens inwards door width 72cm

  • There is a minimum of 89cm either side of the double bed, transfer from either side.
